Condo Renovation in Vancouver
Scope: Complete renovation of a two-bedroom condo in Wall Centre Downtown. Work included new custom millwork, full kitchen rebuild, two bathroom upgrades, custom furniture, new flooring, lighting design, and overall layout improvements.
Objective: Update an older, closed-off condo into a brighter, open, hotel-style living space with better functionality, higher-quality finishes, and a warm, modern feel. The goal was to create a comfortable home for the client’s father that was easy to live in, well-lit, and connected to the main living areas.
Project Outcome
The original layout felt dated and closed in. The kitchen was boxed off from the living room, the materials were aging, and the overall lighting was dim. The family wanted the home to feel more open and more aligned with the clean, modern look you’d expect from a Fairmont hotel suite. Simple, bright, and well-finished.
We redesigned the unit with that direction in mind.
“We wanted a home that felt peaceful and luxurious for our father. Steven understood exactly what we were trying to create. The custom furniture, the warm lighting, the wood features. Everything feels thoughtful and beautifully done.”

Modern Kitchen With Hotel-Level Finishes
The old enclosed kitchen was fully rebuilt with a brighter, more functional layout. High-gloss upper cabinets, walnut lower cabinets, and waterfall-edge quartz counters create a clean and modern feel. New appliances, improved lighting, and organized storage make the kitchen practical during the day while still delivering a softer, hotel-style ambience in the evening. The kitchen now blends naturally into the living and dining areas, supporting the open-concept direction of the renovation.
Custom Wood Feature Wall + Furniture
The living room now centres around a full custom millwork feature wall built specifically for this home. The design includes a clean TV panel, integrated floating shelves, and a matching media unit, giving the space a warm, modern look. It sets the tone for the rest of the renovation and ties all the wood elements across the condo together in a simple, consistent way.
Custom Furniture Designed for Comfort and Fit
Several key pieces of furniture were built custom to fit the layout and the needs of the client’s father. This included a custom bed designed for comfort and stability, as well as a dining and seating arrangement that works better for family visits. The furniture choices follow the same warm palette used throughout the home, keeping everything visually consistent without relying on trends. We also replaced the original window with a new energy-efficient 3-ply unit, improving insulation while still allowing natural light to fill the room.
Fully Updated, Spa-Inspired Bathrooms
Both bathrooms were rebuilt from the ground up with a clean, hotel-inspired design. Large heated tiles, a walk-in glass shower, upgraded fixtures, and custom walnut vanities give the bathrooms a modern and practical finish. Added lighting under the vanities and along the mirrors helps brighten the space without being harsh.
The result is a pair of bathrooms that are simple, durable, and far more functional than before, while maintaining a calm, spa-like feel.
