Full Bathroom Renovation in Dunbar

Scope: Complete redesign and rebuild of an aging main bathroom in Dunbar. Including structural updates, new plumbing layout, premium fixtures, full waterproofing, improved lighting, and modern energy-efficient upgrades.

Objective: Transform a dated, cramped bathroom into a bright, functional, long-lasting space with a better layout, improved comfort, and a clean, contemporary aesthetic. Built to today’s standards of efficiency, safety, and everyday usability.

Project Outcome

This West Side bathroom had good bones, but the original layout wasted space and made the room feel smaller than it was. The homeowners wanted a bathroom that was comfortable, modern, and built to last. Not just a surface-level upgrade.

From the first walkthrough, it was clear the layout had to change. The toilet sat in the wrong spot, the corner shower made the room feel tight, the jacuzzi tub took up far too much space, and the lighting was dim and uneven. We created a plan that improved flow, added comfort features, and elevated the overall experience of the room.

“Steven and CAS helped us see what was actually possible. Upgrading the entire layout, expanding the shower, adding heated floors, everything was done right and the space finally feels modern and comfortable! The quality and communication were excellent from start to finish.”

Functional Layout

One of the biggest improvements came from rethinking how the space was used. We relocated the toilet to the opposite side of the room, which immediately opened up the layout and made the bathroom feel larger. The old corner shower was removed and replaced with a full 5-foot walk-in shower complete with a built-in seat, a recessed niche for bottles, and updated modern fixtures.

Shower Space Upgrade

The original jacuzzi tub took up valuable space without adding much practicality. By removing it and reworking the drain lines, we were able to introduce a sleek linear drain and create a cleaner, more refined shower aesthetic. Both the shower and the main floor now feature heated flooring, turning the entire room into a warm, spa-like experience especially during colder months.

Improved Lighting & Efficiency

Lighting was a major weak point in the old bathroom. We removed the outdated fixtures and installed six new LED pot lights to create bright, even illumination throughout the space.
We also replaced the original window with a new energy-efficient 3-ply unit, improving insulation while still allowing natural light to fill the room.

Built to Last

Beyond the visual upgrades, the entire bathroom was rebuilt with longevity in mind. We fully waterproofed the floor, walls, and entire shower enclosure to ensure long-term durability and protection.

All plumbing fixtures and connections were upgraded as part of the rebuild, giving the homeowners a bathroom that doesn’t just look new: it’s built to perform like new for years to come.
